MBABANE – Nowethu Motsa Makes Magazine Debut in Style!
Grace, intelligence, and a deep-rooted pride in her Swati heritage — Nowethu Motsa, the reigning First Princess of Miss Eswatini 2024/25, is fast becoming one of the country’s most promising young voices in beauty and culture. This month, she takes her spotlight to a new level with her first-ever magazine interview, featured in the Africa Day edition of Rumour Magazine, expected to hit digital stands between May 25 and 31.
The 21-year-old Business Management student at Limkokwing University sat down with Rumour Magazine for an exclusive feature that explores her rise through pageantry, her passion for modelling, and her vision for the future.
“I’ve always known that modelling was my calling,” Motsa says. “Winning Miss Cultural Heritage for Manzini was just the beginning. Being crowned First Princess at Miss Eswatini proved that I’m on the right path.”
Motsa’s journey began soon after high school with her participation in Miss Cultural Heritage 2023, where she earned the regional crown for Manzini. Her talent and poise then earned her the First Princess title in the prestigious Miss Eswatini 2024/25 competition.
In the Rumour Magazine interview, Motsa shares how pageantry shaped her confidence and opened doors:
“The competition was fierce—there were so many beautiful, smart, and confident women. Standing out among them was an honour.” As a rising brand influencer, Motsa has already worked with names like The Epic Gig and Oukitel. “Collaborating with brands has taught me a lot about building my image and audience,” she told Rumour Magazine. She revealed interest in working with more local brands that represent culture and empowerment.
She also opened up about her love for beauty and fashion trends, adding that she hopes to merge these interests with entrepreneurship.
“I’m currently working on ideas that blend my love for fashion with business. I’d love to launch a venture that celebrates African beauty in modern ways.”
The interview is fittingly timed for Africa Day (May 25) — a time to reflect on African identity, unity, and traditions. Motsa proudly discussed the Swati customs that mean the most to her, from traditional attire to community ceremonies.
“Africa Day is a powerful reminder of where we come from. Our culture is our pride.”
For girls dreaming of entering the world of modelling and pageantry, Motsa shared heartfelt advice in her Rumour interview:
“Work on your confidence, practice public speaking, and never dim your light. Stay grounded in your values and focused on your goals.”
Though she hasn’t taken on major projects since her pageant win, Motsa says she’s planning a bigger return—this time, with international ambitions.
“This is just the beginning, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
