MANZINI– With October drawing to a close, anticipation is building for the return of the Mount Zion Experience, an overnight gospel gathering that brings together worship, prayer and spiritual music in a celebration of faith.
Scheduled for October 30 at the Manzini Metropolitan Evangelical Church, the event will run from 6pm until 6am, giving gospel lovers an opportunity to experience a night shaped by different voices, musical expressions and a shared devotion to worship.
The gathering comes as gospel music continues to provide a space for people to express their faith, find encouragement and connect with others through song. Unlike conventional music concerts, worship-centred events place emphasis not only on the performers but also on the message carried by the music and the participation of the congregation.
This year’s line-up features a broad selection of gospel artists, including Nothando Dlamini, Machawe Simelane, Nelly Siwela, Phinda Mnisi, Putuma Tiso, Sphiwo Ndoni, Musa Phakathi, Mzayoni Tsabedze, Rofhiwa Manyaga and Fakazi Samuel, among others.
The variety of voices offers an opportunity for different gospel styles to come together, from songs of praise to more reflective musical expressions. For audiences, such gatherings can become moments of collective worship, where familiar hymns and contemporary gospel sounds create a shared experience.
The Mount Zion Experience also forms part of the wider work associated with the Mount Zion Experience Foundation, which was introduced in August. The foundation’s vision extends beyond music, with an emphasis on supporting vulnerable people, including students experiencing financial hardship.
As the event approaches, its significance lies in the meeting of music and ministry. For artists, it provides a platform to share messages through their craft; for attendees, it offers time away from daily routines to reflect, pray and find encouragement.
The Mount Zion Experience returns on October 30 under an All White Affair theme, bringing together gospel voices for a night centred on faith, fellowship and song.
