MBABANE – The newly appointed Board of Directors of the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) has been given a clear and urgent mandate: make the corporation self-sufficient within a year.
The directive came from the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Honourable Savannah Maziya, who announced the new Board on Monday (1 September 2025) at the Ministry’s boardroom.
The new Chairperson is Lawyer Kwanele Magagula, who also serves as Secretary of the Law Society of Eswatini. He will lead a team drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, tasked with reshaping EPTC into a sustainable and profitable entity.

Board Members Announced
The new Board includes:
- Lindiwe Dlamini – Director: Strategy and Economic Regulation, Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), and former Manager at EPTC.
- Mbali Sibanyoni – Managing Director, Swaziland Building Society (SBS).

Integrity and Innovation at the Core
Minister Maziya urged the new Board to work in close partnership with EPTC management and uphold integrity as a cornerstone of their governance. She was frank about the financial reality, making it clear that government could no longer provide funding to the corporation.
“We expect the company to be self-sufficient in a year or so because the Ministry does not have money to give to EPTC anymore,” she stressed.
Reinventing in the Digital Age
Acknowledging that traditional postal services worldwide are becoming obsolete, the Minister expressed confidence in the Board’s ability to innovate and create new revenue streams. She highlighted the need for EPTC to adapt to modern demands and reposition itself as a competitive player in the communications and technology sector.
“With the calibre of this Board, I am confident that EPTC can become a viable and respected business entity that Emaswati will be proud of,” Minister Maziya said.
EPTC Managing Director
Speaking about the position of managing director at the organisation, the minister said this would be the first thing that the Board would be working on. She said this after she was asked to clarify what was happening regarding this position. Maziya said before the Board hit the ground running, it would have to sort out this issue before working on the mandate of self-sufficiency in the company.
