MBABANE– The creative industry in Eswatini is witnessing a major shift, led by the success of Noncedo Mamba.
As a top model and pageant queen, Mamba has built a career defined by international recognition. Her journey from local titleholder raised at Ndlalambi to a global stage presence proves that discipline makes the world’s most prestigious stages reachable.
Academic Excellence and Professional Foundation
Beyond her achievements on the stage, Mamba is also a dedicated scholar. She is a 2025 Limkokwing University of Creative Technology graduate, having earned an Associate Degree in Public Relations. This academic background provides her with a strategic edge in the industry, allowing her to manage her professional brand with high-level expertise and communication skills.
A Vision Born from Authenticity
Mamba’s interest in modeling was sparked by a desire to challenge the status quo. She approaches the industry with resilience, humility, and patience, traits she developed growing up in Ndlalambi. Raised by her grandparents in a traditional family, she noted the gap in exposure for rural children and chose modeling as her voice.
“I wanted to prove that talent, beauty, and potential are not limited by where you come from,” she shares. “I ventured into modeling to be a voice for rural Black children, to inspire them to dream boldly, and to show them that it is possible to rise beyond circumstances while still honoring one’s roots.”
International Recognition and Pageant Triumphs
Her rise began when she was crowned Miss Cultural Heritage Eswatini 2022/2023 Second Princess. Mamba reflects that this first step required immense courage: “What motivated me most was the desire to challenge myself and step into spaces that once felt out of reach. Modeling taught me courage before it gave me opportunities.”
This foundation led to international triumphs in Johannesburg for Miss Culture International and Botswana for Miss Africa Unite. These milestones were not without difficulty, as she faced rejection and self-doubt. “I faced lot of challenges especially when it comes to international pageant… they weren’t easy but thank God i triumphed,” she says.
Commanding the Ramp with Confidence
On the runway, Mamba has become a powerhouse. Her performances at the MTN Bushfire festivals in 2024 and 2025 marked her transition into an elite tier. This was the moment she realized she belonged on the runway mentally and emotionally. She walks the ramp with absolute confidence, a trait built through mental preparation.
When collaborating with impactful designers like Apparel Clothing, Mamba views the process as a partnership. “I study the garments, the mood, and the story behind the collection. Once I understand the designer’s vision, I translate it through my walk, energy, and expression,” she explains.
A Blueprint for Future Success
Noncedo Mamba’s success is a blueprint for the next generation. She believes consistency is the key that opens global doors and encourages others to focus on growth rather than validation. “When I step onto the runway, I’m not just modeling clothes; I’m telling my story. I made it you can also make it,” she asserts.
Looking ahead, she envisions her journey expanding into new international markets. Her ambition is fueled by a larger purpose: “What keeps me going is knowing that every step forward creates space for others to dream bigger and that purpose fuels my ambition.”
