MBABANE – Eswatini gospel sensation Nothando Hlophe is flying the country’s flag high after earning two nominations at the prestigious Basadi in Music Awards, further cementing her place as one of the Kingdom’s leading gospel voices.

The award-winning singer has been nominated in the Song of the Year and Gospel Artist of the Year categories, marking another significant milestone in a career built on faith, worship and inspirational music. The nominations were announced ahead of the upcoming awards, with voting now open to supporters worldwide.

Sharing the news with her followers, Hlophe described the recognition as an honour and appealed to fans, family and gospel music lovers to vote for her. She thanked supporters for standing by her ministry over the years, saying every prayer, concert attendance, stream and word of encouragement had helped her reach this moment.

Speaking about the achievement, Hlophe said the nominations represent far more than personal success. She explained that they reflect years of dedication, teamwork and unwavering faith in the vision behind her music ministry.

According to the singer, the recognition also belongs to the management team that has worked tirelessly to build an authentic brand capable of competing on international platforms. She believes the nominations send a powerful message that Eswatini’s creative industry has the talent to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best on the African continent.

Hlophe, who is widely recognised for her worship music, including the popular Medley Methodist, said international awards provide valuable opportunities for artists to expand their reach, collaborate across borders and introduce Eswatini’s music to global audiences.

She added that her greatest mission has always been to inspire, uplift and lead people into worship through music, while opening doors for future generations of artists from the Kingdom.

As voting continues, Hlophe has urged emaSwati and supporters across the world to rally behind her campaign. She said every vote is not only a vote for her but also a vote for Eswatini’s creative excellence and the growing influence of local gospel music on the international stage.

She expressed hope that the double nomination will inspire more local artists to dream bigger and prove that Eswatini’s talent can shine beyond its borders.
