MATSAPHA – The second annual Park and Chill brought more than 300 car enthusiasts together at Goldwagen Parking in Matsapha, turning the venue into a lively meeting point for motoring, entertainment and lifestyle culture. Car owners and enthusiasts from across Eswatini filled the venue with a variety of builds, while visitors from South Africa added an international touch to the gathering.
Among the South African guests was car enthusiast Jermaine Manoo Williams, who arrived with his drop-top BMW 325i Alpina. Other visitors brought a pillarless BMW 325i, which was making its appearance at the event for the first time, as well as the car known in South African car circles as “Gxluva GP”.
The venue started filling up from around 2pm, with owners arriving early to secure their spots. By the afternoon, Goldwagen Parking was packed with stance cars, spinning machines and a selection of VW, BMW E30 and Toyota builds.
The event also extended beyond the cars, with food, drinks and entertainment adding to the atmosphere. Bliss Burger, Dirty Fries and The Late Bar were among the businesses serving attendees, while MTN Eswatini, United Holdings, Carrots and Diskibet also showcased their brands.
MTN displayed an OMODA vehicle linked to its Cash&Keys promotion. On the entertainment side, Thandukwazi “TK” Hadebe kept the crowd engaged throughout the day, adding energy to the programme. The competitions provided some of the biggest talking points, with the Low Limbo attracting plenty of attention from spectators.
Sibane Zwane won the Static category, while Smally MaMillion Ntshalintshali claimed the Bagged title. Zukela Mthupha took the Cleanest Car award with his Toyota Quantum, popularly known as “Detective 911”. The Crowd Pleaser title went to Nkosikhona Nxumalo of Hakuna Matata, who was presented with his prize during the awards proceedings.
Meanwhile, Meloe Mavimbela claimed the Loudest Sound System title and received his trophy from event organiser Mlondi Mpanza and Goldwagen representative Mike Hubert. The coveted King of Stance title went to Sisekelo Malinga, adding another major highlight to the competition.
Event organiser Mlondi Mpanza welcomed the turnout, with the strong response to the second edition highlighting the growing interest in Eswatini’s motoring scene. With its combination of local and South African builds, competitions, food and entertainment, Park and Chill is gradually developing into more than a traditional car show.
It has become a space where car enthusiasts can showcase their work, compete for recognition, meet fellow enthusiasts and simply enjoy the culture surrounding their passion.
