MBABANE – His Royal Highness Prince Mcwasho is expected to inspire students at the Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT) through a guest lecture focusing on the importance of quality and resilient infrastructure on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The lecture, scheduled for 10:30am to 11:30am at the college’s Library Lecture Theatre, will provide an opportunity for students to engage with a subject central to the country’s development, particularly in building infrastructure that can withstand challenges while serving communities for generations.

According to the event poster, the presentation is part of the Faculty of Building and Civil Engineering’s Faculty Talks series, with Prince Mcwasho featuring as Guest Lecturer No. 3 of 11.

The engagement presents an opportunity to connect academic learning with practical perspectives on infrastructure development, encouraging students preparing for careers in engineering, construction and related fields to appreciate the role of quality, durability and resilience in national development.

The lecture is particularly relevant given Prince Mcwasho’s professional background. Inyatsi Group has featured him in its leadership activities, while a 2025 report identified him as Head of Operations at Construction Associates, a company involved in construction and infrastructure development.

Prince Mcwasho also holds a Bachelor of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering (Honours) degree from Kingston University in London, according to a 2025 report on his graduation. His academic background aligns closely with the subject of the forthcoming lecture.

ECOT, which describes itself as a leading institution for technical and vocational education and training in Eswatini, offers programmes in building and civil engineering, engineering and science, and other career-oriented disciplines. The lecture therefore provides a platform for students to connect their technical studies with the demands of the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Quality and resilient infrastructure is an important development priority, as durable and well-planned infrastructure supports economic activity, public services and community development. By bringing a professional with relevant academic and industry experience into the lecture theatre, ECOT is creating an opportunity to encourage students to think critically about the standards required to deliver infrastructure that meets present and future needs.

The engagement is also a positive example of the potential value of collaboration between the education sector and professionals working in industry, helping prepare students to contribute their skills to Eswatini’s development.
