MANZINI– At seven years old, Siya Goje is already finding his voice on stages where many children his age would still be finding their confidence.

The Grade 2 pupil has been announced as the headline act for the third edition of Poetry In Comfort, putting a young voice at the centre of an event built around spoken word and poetry.

Siya’s growing presence in Eswatini’s poetry scene has seen him perform at various major stages and events despite his age. His latest opportunity marks another step in a journey that is beginning to attract attention to the talent of young performers.

For a child still in the early years of primary school, taking on a headline position presents a different kind of spotlight. It places his poetry and stage presence before an audience while also showing that spoken word can create space for young voices.

Poetry In Comfort is scheduled for 5 December 2026, with the event entering its third edition. The announcement of Siya as the headline poet gives this year’s edition a youthful face and puts his talent at the heart of the upcoming programme.

The event is presented under Jonokuhle Upholstery, with ticket outlets yet to be unveiled. While details surrounding the full line-up are still to come, the decision to place a seven-year-old poet in the headline position has already created curiosity around what he will bring to the stage.

For Siya, the moment could become another important chapter in his early creative journey one where age takes a back seat to words, confidence and the ability to connect with an audience.

At an age when most children are busy with classroom lessons and playground conversations, Siya is learning another lesson on stage: that a young voice can still command attention.
