SIPHOCOSINI HIGH SCHOOL AMONG OVERALL WINNERS AT INYATSI SCHOOLS ARTS FINALS

MANZINI- Siphocosini High School emerged as one of the top-performing schools during the first leg of the Inyatsi Foundation Schools Arts and Culture Competition finals held at Somhlolo National Stadium, after securing two first-place trophies and one second-place finish.

St Marks High School also recorded an impressive performance, matching the achievement with two first-place trophies and a second-place finish in the highly competitive Group B finals.

The finals brought together schools from across the country for a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture and talent, with learners delivering energetic performances across various dance and cultural categories.

The competition was supported by the Inyatsi Foundation, Genesis Ekucaleni Media, and the Eswatini Network for Women, alongside other stakeholders who contributed towards the success of the event. Support services were also available throughout the competition, with The Clinic Group, Embiveni, Liberty and Maloma assisting with the safety and wellbeing of participants.

Learners from both primary and high schools competed in categories including kwaito dance for boys and girls, military dance, show props, umiso, sibhaca, street drill, African dance and ingadla. The performances transformed Somhlolo National Stadium into a celebration of rhythm, heritage and youthful creativity.

Schools arrived prepared with carefully coordinated routines, colourful costumes and strong team spirit, reflecting the dedication and commitment that went into their performances. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as supporters filled the stands with songs, drums and cheers while schools competed for top honours.

The event highlighted the important role of arts and culture in developing confidence, discipline and creativity among learners, while also providing a platform for young performers to showcase their talents.

Other schools that earned recognition and trophies included Sigcineni, St Theresa’s, Kwaluseni Infant, St Michael’s High School, Woodlands High School, Swazi National High School, Lobamba National High School, Ekutsembeni High School, Inyandza High School, Fonteyn, Zombodze, Madlangempisi and several primary schools that excelled in their respective categories.

The Group B finals concluded on a successful note, with focus now moving to the Group A finals, which continue on Thursday at Somhlolo National Stadium as schools prepare to showcase more talent, culture and school pride.
