MBABANE– Eswatini’s musical landscape is undergoing a historic shift as Sancheziey’s powerhouse rendition of his hit single, “Siyabonga Gogo,” continues to dominate digital platforms.
Demonstrating an incredible outpouring of local pride, the music video has officially eclipsed the 40 000 view threshold on YouTube within a mere 10 days of its debut.
The revamped track, which premiered on Friday, December 19, 2025, has maintained an extraordinary trajectory. After achieving an impressive 18 000 views in its opening 72 hours, the project has more than doubled its reach in just one week, cementing its status as a genuine cultural sensation. Critics and fans alike have praised the collaboration as a masterpiece, uniting a multi, generational cast that features the iconic Lodanda, modern rap titan Young Zesh, and the harmonious talents of the Limkokwing Choir.
Reflecting on this massive reception, Sancheziey emphasized that this triumph is a direct reflection of the rigorous preparation and passion his collective poured into the production. “This reflects the dedication my team and I invested in crafting this version,” Sancheziey remarked. “The effort required to assemble artists who could truly synchronize with this energy was immense. The resources funneled into both the cinematography and sound engineering are clearly yielding results. I am hopeful this becomes the definitive crossover anthem, and the feedback from the nation is incredibly heartening.”
The artist also extended a deep debt of gratitude to the legendary Lodanda for her historic return to the booth, as well as Lindelwa Mafa and Cy Ndukwemnyama for their pivotal roles in making the collaboration a reality. He further acknowledged the technical brilliance of the production teams at MegaSounds Records, Ejal’dini Studios, and the producers who polished the sound. “I am so much grateful to everyone who shared, commented and watched,” he added, focusing his heart on the fans. “Thank you Eswatini.”
The meteoric rise in engagement validates Sancheziey’s initial claim that this would be a pivotal moment for domestic music. By amassing 40,000 views in just 10 days, the record is rapidly closing the gap on the original’s lifetime total of over 65,000 views. The heart of this success lies in the project’s raw authenticity. Captured at the Arts and Culture studios in Manzini, the recording session incorporated indigenous elements such as the Luveve instrument, played by Mabhodweni, and traditional “Bujaha vibes” from Ulaka Lebhubezi. These choices align perfectly with the Salukazana brand’s goal of honoring Swati heritage.
A standout moment for many listeners is the return of the legendary Msani vocalist Lodanda. Breaking a recording hiatus that stretched back to 2015, her involvement brings a profound emotional depth that anchors the song in ancestral roots. This classic influence is expertly balanced by Young Zesh, who infused the track with contemporary hip,hop energy. Meanwhile, the Limkokwing Choir, who inspired the remix after their 2025 graduation performance, provided the rich vocal layers that have enchanted the online community.
As the curtain closes on 2025, the “Siyabonga Gogo Remix” has emerged as the definitive soundtrack of the holiday season, establishing a new benchmark for Eswatini’s creative industry as we enter 2026.
