MANZINI– For many rally fans, the excitement of Swazi Rally is about the sound of engines, the rush of speed and the atmosphere that builds around the action. This year, however, there is another change that will shape how fans experience the event money will be moving differently.
Swazi Rally 2026 is introducing a fully cashless system, with wristbands becoming the main way for attendees to make purchases during the three-day event from 28 to 30 August.
It is a change that could take some getting used to, particularly for regular rally-goers who are accustomed to pulling out cash whenever they need food, drinks or other event essentials. Instead, the wristband is expected to become part of the rally experience, allowing fans to make purchases without carrying physical money around.
The system also comes with a little reassurance for those worried about loading more money than they eventually spend. According to the event information, unused balances can be cashed out or refunded after the rally.
That means the wristband is not simply another souvenir from the weekend; it becomes a practical part of navigating the event. And while the cashless system may be the new talking point, the heart of Swazi Rally remains the same bringing together motorsport enthusiasts for a weekend driven by speed, entertainment and the energy of the crowd.
The 2026 edition will also cater for younger rally fans, with Kids Day tickets priced at E150, while general tickets are listed at E300. With the rally running across three days, the new payment system adds a modern layer to an event traditionally associated with roaring engines and dust-filled excitement.
For fans, there may be a short learning curve, but once the wristbands are loaded, the idea is simple: less cash in the pocket and more attention on the rally. And when the engines fire up, that is probably where most fans will want their attention anyway.
