NDZINGENI – The gloves are coming off, and the heat isn’t just coming from the braai stands this July!

Eswatini’s Biggest Braai ninth edition 2025 is turning up the excitement with an unexpected showdown in the ring, as Ndzingeni-born Fanoza Kunene throws down the gauntlet to challenge crowd-favourite Stufuza (Mzwandile Dlamini) in a boxing match that’s got everyone talking.

Fanoza, 32, currently based in Ngwenya, may not be a professional boxer — but he’s bringing confidence, fitness, and raw ambition to the fight. “Like Stufuza, I’m not a pro either, but I’d love to take boxing as a hobby. I train after work and plan to keep fighting on weekends,” Kunene said.

What started as a friendly event feature is quickly gaining serious hype. Kunene sees this match as more than just a chance to trade punches — it’s a shot at something bigger. “I heard the winner might get coaching lessons, which is great exposure. I’m serious about boxing and want to take it further,” he shared.

And he’s not backing down. Fanoza believes he has what it takes to beat Stufuza, who recently made waves with a surprise win in a previous bout. “I’ve watched his fight, and honestly, I believe I can defeat him,” he said confidently.

He’s currently putting in two hours of training every day and says his background in football gives him both stamina and strategy. “With a bit of coaching, I’ll be more than ready for the ring,” he added.

The match is set for July 26 at the iconic Biggest Braai — known for celebrating music, food, and culture with high-energy entertainment. This year, the boxing ring might just steal the show as fans gear up to see which underdog rises to the top.

Whether it’s about pride, passion, or pure entertainment, Kunene vs. Stufuza is shaping up to be a must-watch moment on the braai weekend line-up.
