SIDVOKODVO— South African rap sensation Usimamane is set to electrify the stage at the eagerly awaited Hipnotik Music Festival, marking a triumphant return for Eswatini’s biggest hip-hop celebration, scheduled for October 4-5, 2025, at Rider Ranch, Sidvokodvo.

This festival is back after a seven-year hiatus, promising to reignite the country’s creative spirit and youth culture with an exhilarating lineup and a renewed mission. Usimamane, born Omuhleumnguni Simamane in Umlazi, Durban, has quickly risen to fame, capturing hearts with his platinum-selling single “Cheque.” His unique blend of rap and trap infused with R&B melodies sets him apart, making him one of the most exciting artists to watch.

Usimamane’s musical journey began in a family of music lovers in Umlazi, a place rich with musical culture. Influenced by a diverse array of artists, from global icons like Drake and 50 Cent to African legends such as Brenda Fassie, he developed a style that resonates with many. His debut album, “20th: Days Before Maud,” released in September 2024, broke Spotify records for second-day streams in South Africa and solidified his position in the industry.

Festival director and founder Sakhile Nkambule emphasized the festival’s role: “The return of Hipnotik isn’t just nostalgic; it’s strategic. We’re here to restore the pulse of Eswatini’s entertainment scene and take it further.” He pointed out that the festival aims to be a vital platform for local creatives, entrepreneurs, and service providers, calling it “a proven youth-led economic vehicle” that extends beyond entertainment.

Joining Usimamane on stage will be an impressive lineup of artists, including the multi-talented Tony Dayimane, known for his trap sound, and other favorites from the local scene. This star-studded lineup promises a night filled with unforgettable performances and vibrant energy.
