MBABANE — Forget the usual party where the crowd slowly finds its feet. Party Yama 2000 is coming with a different mission, to take the “2K generation” on a nostalgic, high-energy musical ride from the first beat until the night runs out.

The event, hosted by entertainer Thabiso Khumalo, popularly known as Sgitha, is set to take place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at IF’s Lounge Mbabane, starting from 5pm until late.

For Sgitha, the concept is more than just another event on the entertainment calendar. It is his way of creating a space specifically for the generation that has followed and supported his brand over the years.

“Looking at the fact that most of my followers are 2Ks, I decided to accommodate an event that will entirely have their vibe from the get-go till dawn, so do is apart,” said Sgitha.

He said the concept holds personal significance because of the role the 2K generation has played in his journey.

“The concept means a lot for me man, because they have been part of my brand from the beginning,” he said.

Party Yama 2000 is expected to bring together DJs and music lovers for a night centred on energy, movement and good music.

Sgitha said partygoers should not expect DJs to simply go through the motions.

“They should expect energy, music that will keep them on their feet all day. We’re not there to build on sets, but every DJ is coming with his or her A game,” he said.

The organiser also revealed that he would love to take the Party Yama 2000 concept around the country, although his existing bookings have made that difficult for now.

Mbabane was therefore a natural choice for the first outing.

“I feel like I owe them something like this, man. It’s been some time since I haven’t played in Mbabane or had a gig there,” he said.

Beyond the partying, Sgitha said the event will also provide an opportunity to shine a light on local talent.

The organisers plan to document the event while ensuring that participating local DJs and artists receive recognition. He described the lineup as an opportunity for creatives, particularly upcoming DJs, to network and expose their talents.

“Most of the DJs there are upcoming DJs with so much talent, man,” he said.

With tickets priced at E50 at the gate, the event is positioned as an accessible night out for those looking to reconnect with the sounds and energy associated with the 2K generation.

And Sgitha has one final warning for anyone planning to attend.

“Once you see ‘Sgitha’ as a host, expect a night where all will lose morals and just live in the moment.”

With a neat and clean dress code, Party Yama 2000 is set to turn IF’s Lounge into a playground for music lovers on September 25.
