MBABANE – Eswatini’s music scene continues to celebrate another milestone after local artist Young Zesh and Mabonwa Abulawe Records surpassed 11,000 YouTube views in just six days with their patriotic single, Umliba Loyembili.
Released less than a week ago, the seven-minute production has quickly become one of the country’s most talked-about songs, earning praise for its powerful celebration of Swati culture, unity and national pride. The song’s rapid growth on YouTube has sparked conversations across social media, with fans applauding its meaningful lyrics and cultural imagery.
Speaking to Eswatini Positive News, an emotional Young Zesh said the achievement is more than just numbers—it is proof that music with purpose still resonates with people.
“First of all, I want to thank God and everyone who has streamed, shared and supported Umliba Loyembili. Seeing the song reach over 11,000 views in just six days was an emotional moment for me. It showed me that people believe in the message and the movement behind the song. As an independent artist from Eswatini, moments like these remind me that hard work, patience and consistency always pay off,” he said.
Although he believed the song carried a powerful message, the overwhelming response caught him by surprise.
“I knew the song had the potential to touch people because of its message, but I honestly didn’t expect such a powerful response in such a short time. The love has exceeded my expectations. Seeing people from different parts of Eswatini and even outside the country sharing the song and singing along has been incredible. It proves that when you create music with purpose, people connect with it,” he added.
Young Zesh explained that Umliba Loyembili was inspired by the courage, resilience and unity that have defined the Swati nation throughout history. Beyond celebrating culture, he said the project was also created to unite local artists behind one vision.
“My message is simple: let’s be proud of who we are, respect our culture, support one another and continue building Eswatini together. When we stand united like the warriors who came before us, nothing can stop us.”
The artist believes the success of the single is also a victory for the country’s growing music industry.
“This milestone means everything to me and Mabonwa Abulawe Records. It proves that local music is growing and that Eswatini is ready to support artists who create quality music with meaning. This success belongs to every artist, producer, DJ, media house and fan who believed in Umliba Loyembili. It motivates us to keep raising the standard and showing the world that Eswatini has world-class talent.”
Following the successful launch, Young Zesh says fans should brace themselves for even more music.
“This is only the beginning. Fans can definitely expect more music, exciting collaborations and more live performances across Eswatini and beyond. My next single is titled Giya, featuring the incredibly talented Princess Buhlebetive. It’s a different vibe from Umliba Loyembili—energetic, infectious and made to get people dancing while still delivering great music. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
With Umliba Loyembili continuing to gain momentum online, Young Zesh is proving that authentic storytelling, cultural pride and meaningful music can capture audiences both at home and beyond Eswatini’s borders.
