MANZINI– Manzini Central Primary School is set to strengthen digital learning following the donation of 50 laptops by Africa Mission, an initiative of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, to improve access to technology and support teaching and learning.
The laptops were handed over at the school on October 14, 2026, with Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo receiving the donation on behalf of the education sector.
The donation marks a significant addition to the school’s learning resources, creating opportunities for teachers to incorporate technology into lessons and expose pupils to digital tools that are increasingly important in modern education.
With access to laptops, the school stands to enhance pupils’ digital literacy, encourage interactive learning and help learners become more familiar with technology as a tool for research, information gathering and knowledge development. The contribution also reinforces the importance of preparing pupils with skills that will support their future studies and participation in an increasingly digital world.
Nxumalo commended Africa Mission for investing in education, saying the contribution complemented Government’s efforts to improve learning opportunities and prepare pupils for a world increasingly shaped by technology.
He said the donation aligned with His Majesty King Mswati III’s mandate to improve access to technology in schools and communities, emphasising the importance of digital resources in strengthening education.
“The role of the church goes beyond caring for people’s spiritual well-being to addressing their social needs and contributing meaningfully to national development,” said Nxumalo.
The Minister said Government appreciated interventions from organisations that supported education, noting that such contributions helped ease the financial burden on the state and parents while complementing ongoing efforts to improve teaching and learning.
He further highlighted the value of partnerships in addressing educational needs and supporting schools with resources that contribute to better learning environments.
The handover programme included a tour of the school’s premises and an interaction with Grade 1 and Grade 7 pupils. During the engagement, Nxumalo encouraged the pupils to remain committed to their studies and wished the Grade 7 class success in their upcoming examinations.
The donation builds on Africa Mission’s previous contributions to Manzini Central Primary School, reinforcing the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting the institution and improving pupils’ access to educational resources.
Africa Mission’s broader vision is to empower vulnerable communities through education, vocational training, food security and sustainable development. Guided by its *Reach, Restore and Empower* philosophy, the organisation seeks to address immediate community needs while creating opportunities for long-term progress.
For Manzini Central Primary, the laptops represent an opportunity to further integrate digital learning into the school environment. Their impact will depend on how effectively they are incorporated into classroom activities and made accessible to pupils and teachers.
The contribution highlights how collaboration between Government, faith-based organisations and communities can help schools access additional resources, strengthen digital skills and broaden educational opportunities for learners.
