MATSAPHA- The Amapiano landscape is buzzing following the official release of the highly anticipated EP, “HOPE U NOTICE ME,” by the sensational vocalist Bongswa.
Released on January 26, 2026, the six-track project marks a definitive moment for the artist, especially after receiving a massive co-sign and review from the legendary South African duo, Scorpion Kings (DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small).
Born Bongiswa Mkhonta, the Eswatini-born and Germiston-raised artist has masterfully blended the gritty pulse of South African Amapiano with the melodic soul of his home country. Bongswa, who is currently balancing his music career with his studies as an Information Technology student at the University of Eswatini, describes the EP as a “sonic bridge” between his two homes.
The project’s crown jewel is the collaboration with South African heavyweight Seun1401, the mastermind behind the viral hit “Ngibolekeni.” The EP also features the touch of “Di Kgomo” hitmaker Sandy6eats, alongside Eswatini’s own renowned MC SINTour. Together, these artists have crafted a body of work that is as inspirational as it is danceable.
Bongswa’s journey began at the tender age of 12 in Germiston, South Africa. Since his 2022 breakout single “ASBONGE,” which dominated regional airwaves and television, he has been on a steady climb. Influenced by giants like Daliwonga and DJ Maphorisa, Bongswa’s signature sound aims to promote good morals while maintaining a high-energy “vibe.”
“One of my biggest hurdles has been marketing resources, but the music speaks for itself,” Bongswa remarked. The co-sign from the Scorpion Kings serves as a powerful validation of his talent, proving that his soulful, vibey approach is hitting the right notes with industry leaders and fans alike.
With 2026 already looking bright, the artist has confirmed that music videos for selected tracks from the EP are already in the works. His vision remains global, with a clear goal to continue collaborating with international stars like Aya City and his idol, Daliwonga.
