MANZINI– Local disc jockey DJ Bloss is preparing to turn up the heat in Manzini as he brings together some of South Africa and Eswatini’s celebrated selectors for the highly anticipated DJ Bloss & Friends: SA Invades Eswatini showcase at Hot Bar on June 5.
The music showcase is expected to deliver an explosive night of house music, deep grooves and energetic performances as renowned South African headliners including SoulConquer and Simphiwe S join forces with some of Eswatini’s finest DJs.
The line-up also features talented local acts such as Gifted Kosie, Skelez, Master Jack, Locco, Bandora, Sweet Shandis, Sbu De Drum, Sgitha, Best Duo, Mufasa, Brothers On Cue and Junior De DJ.
Speaking ahead of the event, DJ Bloss said the main objective behind the event was to strengthen relationships between DJs from the two neighbouring countries while also creating opportunities for growth within the music industry.
“I believe in collaborating with other deejays. We’re likely to achieve more as a unit than as individuals. So this is a chance for the DJs from the two countries to network and collaborate where they can,” he said.
He further revealed that the visiting South African DJs had long shown interest in performing in Eswatini.
“The guys have been interested in visiting the Kingdom for a while now. So I thought it would be nice that we organise something and they come through. Luckily, Hot Bar opened their doors for us. There was really no criteria besides the fact that it’s people that are skilled at what we do and take the craft seriously,” said DJ Bloss.
The talented DJ also promised fans a special musical experience packed with both familiar hits and unreleased material.
“They can expect to hear more of my own songs, released and unreleased,” he added.
DJ Bloss emphasised the importance of cross-border collaborations, saying Eswatini artists stand to benefit greatly from engaging with the South African market.
“The countries consume almost the same thing when it comes to music, so it is very important, especially for us Swazis, to collaborate with South Africans because they offer a bigger audience than ours,” he explained.
With tickets going for E50, the event is expected to attract music lovers from across the country eager to witness the blend of sounds and cultures on one stage.
“All of the guys are very skilled and passionate DJs. I’m just looking forward to seeing how they deliver their sets for a different audience from what they are used to,” he said.
He concluded by encouraging his supporters to come out in numbers for what promises to be a memorable night.
“I would appeal to everyone who supports me to come through and we have a great time together. Who knows, we might have giveaways on the night,” he said.
