MALKERNS – South African sensation DJ, TV personality, and business woman DJ Zinhle Jiyane has been announced for Phase 1 of the fifth edition of the Makoti Festival.
The announcement was released today by the Makoti Festival Executive, marking the start of the journey toward the highly anticipated 2026 event.
Joining DJ Zinhle for the Phase 1 reveal is local Gospel sensation Nothando Hlophe. A former member of the South African group Spirit of Praise, Hlophe is fresh from touring Taiwan and several South African provinces to promote her latest album. Other local talents joining the exciting Phase 1 lineup include Velemseni, GiftedKosie, Culolami, Ash, Nelson X, and Mozambique’s DJ Skywhite.
The Makoti Festival returns for its fifth edition on April 25, 2026, at the Malkerns Country Club. The event is a full day of live music, fashion, and cultural exchange that celebrates Southern Africa’s creative brilliance and global spirit. Half a decade since its inception, the festival remains a deep cultural celebration rooted in Eswatini traditions.
It is worth highlighting that more exciting artists and DJs will be announced as the build-up to the festival kicks off. Fans should expect a series of announcements in the coming weeks, including the reveal of headliners and special guests. The festival honors women—married, unmarried, and young girls—preparing them for their future roles as makotis in a family-oriented environment.
The fourth edition of the festival was successfully held on April 26, 2025, bringing together talent from South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, and Mozambique. Since its start in April 2022, the event has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated gatherings. Tickets are now available across all major selling platforms, including Computicket, Howler, Moja Ticket, and the official festival website.
