MBABANE – The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has bid an emotional farewell to Ambassador Jeremy Liang as he retires after serving in Eswatini for eight years, bringing to a close a diplomatic tenure widely recognised for strengthening the long-standing ties between the two countries.
In a heartfelt tribute, the embassy thanked Ambassador Liang for his years of dedicated service, describing him as a trusted friend of Eswatini whose humility, compassion and commitment had touched countless lives during his time in the Kingdom.
The embassy said Ambassador Liang’s leadership had played a significant role in deepening the friendship between Taiwan and Eswatini through meaningful cooperation across a wide range of sectors. His tenure was also characterised by his close engagement with the people of Eswatini and his appreciation of the country’s culture and traditions.
“For nearly a decade, Ambassador Liang has been a trusted friend of Eswatini whose humility, compassion and commitment have left a lasting mark on countless lives,” the embassy said in its farewell message.
The embassy noted that Ambassador Liang’s contribution extended beyond diplomacy, saying he embraced the country with warmth and respect while championing initiatives that reinforced the enduring partnership between the two nations.
Taiwan and Eswatini have maintained close diplomatic relations for decades, with cooperation spanning areas such as agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, information and communications technology, trade and capacity building.
As Ambassador Liang begins a new chapter in retirement, the embassy expressed its appreciation for his outstanding leadership and wished him and his family good health, happiness and fulfilment.
In a message blending English and siSwati, the embassy thanked the veteran diplomat for his service and assured him that Eswatini would always remain a second home.

Ambassador Liang leaves Eswatini after eight years of service, concluding a diplomatic mission marked by close cooperation and enduring friendship between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
