MBABANE– Eswatini has been described as an emerging centre of excellence in technology, cultural enterprise, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

OACPS ICT Manager Atine John Bosco shared his experience while in Eswatini at the Secretariat Headquarters in Belgium, Brussels.

“I wish to formally convey my sincere appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and commendable professionalism extended to our delegation during the recent official mission to the Kingdom of Eswatini. The engagement was, by all measurable standards, both substantive and highly productive,” he said.

From a technical standpoint, John Bosco said he was particularly impressed by the level of digital infrastructure readiness, systems integration capability, and institutional commitment demonstrated by the Government of Eswatini and its local technical teams in supporting an international parliamentary engagement of such strategic significance. He said the internet connectivity, operational ICT support, and integrated systems infrastructure at the Ezulwini Palazzo Conference Facility were notably of international standard and merit formal recognition.

“In my capacity as ICT Manager of the OACPS Secretariat, I had the professional privilege of collaborating closely with local stakeholders in the technical preparations preceding the Parliamentary Assembly engagements. The responsiveness, technical proficiency, and coordination efficiency observed throughout the mission are strong indicators of a nation that is advancing its digital transformation agenda with clarity of purpose and institutional resolve,” he said.

Beyond the technical dimensions of the mission, the Uganda-born specialist said he was equally struck by the evident spirit of innovation, cultural confidence, and national ambition that permeates Eswatini’s professional and civic landscape.

“The kingdom presents itself not merely as a geographically distinguished nation, but as an emerging centre of excellence in technology, diplomacy, cultural enterprise, and international cooperation,” said John Bosco.

He noted that of particular note was the digital artistic initiative surrounding the “Ezulwini (Africa-EU) — One Voice, One People” production, developed in alignment with the Assembly’s overarching theme of unity, innovation, and Pan-African solidarity.

He said the composition is now formally available across all major digital music distribution platforms and has garnered considerable reception among diverse audiences globally.

On the margins of the Assembly, he said he had the privilege of engaging with one of Eswatini’s distinguished artists, Sands, whose work contributed meaningfully to this initiative.

“Our discussions centred on the rapidly evolving intersection of digital artistry and the music industry, and we explored prospective areas of collaboration with the OACPS ICT Unit in advancing digital outreach, creative storytelling, and cultural diplomacy through technology-driven platforms.”

He said the engagement was both professionally stimulating and strategically relevant.

These developments, he said, serve as a compelling illustration of the expanding role of Information and Communication Technology — not solely in the delivery of core technical services, but increasingly as a strategic instrument for innovation, institutional visibility, digital storytelling, and diplomatic communication.

In a related milestone, the noted that the OACPS Theme Song — derived from the official OACPS Anthem lyrics — was publicly performed for the first time at a major international event, following formal approval by the Secretary-General, H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki. He said this constitutes a historic moment in the organisation’s cultural and communications history.

“These achievements build upon the institutional momentum generated during the recently concluded OACPS Summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, from which notable digital productions including “Malabo Rising” and “Malabo Triumph (PACTE in Motion)” emerged as impactful digital communications assets in support of the organisation’s visibility and transformation agenda,” he said.

John Bosco said these productions represent the foundational phase of a broader, long-term digital transformation movement within the organisation — one that will continue to strategically integrate diplomacy, technology, media, and cultural expression.

He also formally commended Destiny Events Company and its entire operational team for the exemplary coordination and logistical execution demonstrated throughout the engagements.

He said their professionalism and dedication were instrumental to the overall success and seamless conduct of the Assembly-related activities.

“It remains a professional honour to have represented the OACPS Secretariat during this significant mission, under the strategic leadership of H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki, Secretary-General of the OACPS, and within the broader framework of the Organisation’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2025–2030.”
