MBABANE – The Minister for Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, has applauded health workers across the country for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign, which ran from August 4,to 15, 2025.
The campaign, was coordinated through the Ministry of Health’s Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), targeted children aged nine months to five years, providing vital protection against measles and rubella. It also gave many children an opportunity to catch up on other missed vaccines, particularly those living in hard-to-reach and underserved communities.
“Prevention is better than cure, and the health of our children is vital. Surely the future of the country is secure because these children are now protected against these diseases through the vaccines they have received,” said Minister Matsebula.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, community health workers, drivers, environmental health officers, data clerks, monitoring and evaluation officers, health promotion officers, paramedics, and other personnel who worked relentlessly over the two-week period.
“In the past two weeks, you have worked tirelessly, committing your time and effort to ensure coverage across all four regions of the country. You even worked under strenuous conditions and on weekends. For this, I praise and honour you all. You are heroes you are life savers,” he said.
The minister also thanked parents and guardians who brought their children for immunization, noting that their commitment added an important layer of protection against illnesses that can harm young lives.
“The Ministry of Health and the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini salute you all, as do I,” Matsebula concluded.
