LOBAMBA – As Eswatini enters the final stretch towards Friday, April 24, 2026, rainfall that began earlier this week sweeping across the Kingdom has been widely embraced as a profound sign of blessing over His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40th Ruby Jubilee and 58th Birthday celebrations.

The showers, arriving at a pivotal moment in the national calendar, symbolise divine favour, renewal and the outpouring of prosperity, reinforcing the spiritual significance of this historic milestone.

At Somhlolo National Stadium, the final rehearsals unfolded with precision, unity and patriotic fervour, bringing together the nation’s leadership, security forces and performers in preparation for the grand occasion.

Meanwhile, Eswatini Positive News reporter, while observing the skies on April 21, 2026 during the final rehearsals of His Majesty King Mswati III’s double celebration, witnessed a striking rainbow stretching across the horizon.

The powerful natural display, emerging after the rainfall, carried deep symbolism representing hope, divine connection and triumph after hardship.

Traditionally, a rainbow signifies renewal and promise, with its seven colours conveying a unified message: red for strength, orange for creativity, yellow for joy, green for growth, blue for peace, indigo for wisdom and violet for spirituality together reflecting harmony and higher purpose aligned with the national mood.

The rehearsals were attended by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla, Hhohho Regional Administrator Princess Tsandzile and Minister of Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe Dlamini.

Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Majaha, Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) Army Commander Lieutenant General Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze, National Commissioner Vusi Masango, Commissioner General Phindile Dlamini and Chief Fire Officer Luke T. Lushaba, among other senior officials.

In a vivid display of national unity, Minister Princess Lindiwe Dlamini led a vibrant march from Mashibhini to the stadium, joined by all performers set to take the stage, creating a colourful and energetic procession. The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force showcased its parade with confidence and precision, offering a glimpse of the spectacle expected on the main day.

In keeping with royal protocol during rehearsals, His Majesty King Mswati III was represented by Samson Mantfweshu Gumedze, while Indvuna Nelisiwe Dludlu symbolically represented the arrival of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, adding authenticity and ceremonial depth to the proceedings.

Addressing participants, the Prime Minister commended participants for their dedication and urged them to remain disciplined until the final day. He reminded them of the significance of the occasion, encouraging them to take pride in contributing to a moment that will be remembered for generations.

“This is history in the making. One day you will look back and say you played your part in celebrating a remarkable national milestone,” he said.

As the Kingdom stands on the threshold of this landmark double celebration, the rainfall and rainbow together have come to symbolise more than nature they reflect a nation blessed, united and ready to celebrate a legacy of leadership, culture and resilience.
