KWALUSENI – Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati Make LaMatsebula has officially launched the inaugural Eswatini Education Research Journal (ESWERJ), urging stronger partnerships among government, universities, and private innovators to advance education, research, and digital learning across the kingdom.
The announcement was made during the ESWERA–DEASA–KEAS–RSTP 2025 International Conference at the University of Eswatini, Kwaluseni Campus, a gathering of regional and international scholars focused on shaping the future of education.
Inkhosikati LaMatsebula praised the Eswatini Education Research Association (ESWERA) for decades of commitment to bridging research and practice in education. She highlighted milestones such as the establishment of the National Research Council (NRC), the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) programme, and the Young Academy of Sciences, all aimed at building local research capacity and promoting inclusion in STEM fields.
The conference theme, “Education in the 21st Century: Access, Affordability, Sustainability, Innovation and Relevance,” was central to her remarks. Inkhosikati LaMatsebula emphasized the importance of expanding access to rural education, integrating digital learning, and aligning curricula with national economic needs. She stressed that collaboration between ministries, universities, and innovators is key to transforming education into a powerful tool for societal progress.
She also acknowledged the contributions of the Ministries of ICT and Education, as well as regional partners DEASA, KEAS, and RSTP, for their shared commitment to innovation and educational transformation. “When collaboration, capacity building, and digital transformation come together, we can truly transform society through education,” she said.
The conference, which brings together top researchers, policymakers, and innovators from across Southern Africa, will explore inclusive education models, open and distance learning, and strategies to make education accessible, affordable, and relevant for all learners.
Inkhosikati LaMatsebula concluded by officially opening the conference and encouraging delegates to create a future where education is not only a right but a catalyst for empowerment and transformation.
