MBABANE – From the streets of Pigg’s Peak to international stages, Eswatini artist M Nation, born Wandile Ndlovu, is celebrating a decade of music, milestones and making his hometown proud.
What began as a dream in 2015 has grown into a career that has taken the artist from local stages to the prestigious MTN Bushfire Festival, and even as far as India, where he represented Eswatini through music and culture.
Now, after 10 years in the industry, M Nation is turning the spotlight back to the people who have supported him throughout his journey.
The Pigg’s Peak-born artist will celebrate his 10 years in the music industry this Saturday, 15 August 2026, at Gobolondlo Hall, with the celebration being free for M Nation music lovers.
For M Nation, the milestone is a moment of gratitude and reflection.
“I am extremely grateful and humbled to be marking a decade in the music industry. When I started this journey, I had a dream and a passion for music, but I could not have imagined all the places this journey would take me,” says M Nation.
“I am grateful to everyone who has believed in me, supported my music and given me opportunities to grow. Most importantly, I am grateful to Pigg’s Peak and Eswatini for allowing me to represent them wherever I go.”
FROM PIGG’S PEAK TO FIREFLY
Born Wandile Ndlovu, M Nation entered the music industry in 2015, steadily developing his identity through his distinctive sound, energetic performances and strong connection to his roots.
His music incorporates elements of Gqom and rap, while his performances have helped him build a growing following in Eswatini and beyond.
One of the biggest turning points in his career came in 2023, when he emerged among the Top 10 finalists in the MTN Bushfire Firefly competition.
The Firefly platform gave the artist increased exposure and helped open doors to bigger opportunities, including performing at the MTN Bushfire Festival.
Bushfire is one of Eswatini’s most internationally recognised music and arts festivals and has attracted performers and audiences from around the world. The festival has also been hailed by CNN as a must-attend festival, making M Nation’s appearance on the Bushfire stage an important milestone in his career.
For an artist who started his journey in Pigg’s Peak, the opportunity represented a significant step onto a much larger stage.
REPRESENTING ESWATINI IN INDIA
M Nation’s career reached another international milestone in 2024, when he was selected through Eswatini’s Arts and Culture structures to represent the country at the 37th Surajkund International Craft Mela Festival in Faridabad, India.
Travelling as part of an Eswatini cultural delegation, M Nation performed alongside a cultural troupe, using music and performance to showcase the country’s identity to an international audience.
His performances included songs such as “Limuva Lami” and “Calvary”, combining contemporary music with the broader cultural presentation of Eswatini.
The Indian experience became one of the defining chapters of his career, giving him the opportunity to perform before international audiences while experiencing a different culture.
Following the trip, M Nation spoke about the warm reception he received in India and how the experience contributed to the growth of his brand.
MORE THAN MUSIC
Despite travelling beyond Eswatini’s borders, M Nation has remained closely connected to Pigg’s Peak.
His involvement in initiatives such as the Limuva Lami Festival has helped create platforms for local and emerging performers, reflecting his desire to see other artists from his hometown receive opportunities.
His journey has also included performances in South Africa and Zanzibar, further expanding his regional experience.
For M Nation, music has become more than entertainment. It has become a way to represent where he comes from, connect with different audiences and inspire young people to believe in their own potential.
