MBABANE— The roar of engines is set to become part of Mbabane’s entertainment landscape as the capital prepares to welcome motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region for the inaugural 268 Bikers Rally.
The rally was officially launched today at Albert Millin, with Mbabane Mayor Thulani Mkhonto describing the event as a major addition to the city’s events calendar and an opportunity to showcase Mbabane as a vibrant tourism destination.
The three-day rally, scheduled for September 18 to 20, 2026, at the Prince of Wales, is hosted by the Mbabane-based 268 Bikers Club in partnership with the Mbabane Municipal Council.
Delivering the keynote address at the launch, Mkhonto said the rally represents more than motorcycles and entertainment, highlighting the passion, discipline and camaraderie shared by the biking community.

Mkhonto said hosting the inaugural rally is a significant milestone for the municipality, noting that Mbabane is not only Eswatini’s administrative capital but also a cultural and geographical gateway to the Kingdom.
He said the city’s mountains, valleys and scenic landscapes make it an ideal destination for motorcycle enthusiasts, while the rally provides an opportunity to promote Mbabane as a city that embraces diverse cultures, modern lifestyles and tourism ventures.
The Mayor also commended the 268 Bikers Club for turning its vision into reality, saying the initiative demonstrates what can be achieved when local authorities and community groups work together.
According to Mkhonto, the partnership can contribute to creating memorable experiences, strengthening civic pride and bringing people together through entertainment and tourism.
The rally is expected to feature bikers from Eswatini and the wider region, with the three-day programme offering a platform for motorcycle culture, social interaction and entertainment.
Mkhonto reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to supporting initiatives that bring activity to the city, declaring the inaugural 268 Bikers Rally officially launched.
