MBABANE – Delegates attending the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, European Union Parliamentary Assembly have been called upon to ensure that the resolutions and commitments made during the high level gathering are translated into concrete action in their respective countries.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the parliamentary session held on May 14, 2026, on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Prince Lindani commended delegates from Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Europe for their active participation and commitment throughout the assembly.
Prince Lindani stressed that the discussions and resolutions adopted during the session should not remain confined to conference rooms, but must instead drive meaningful interventions aimed at addressing pressing socio economic and political challenges facing member states.
He noted that the assembly provided a critical platform for leaders and policymakers to engage on issues affecting millions of people across the globe, including youth unemployment, trade development, peace, stability and international cooperation.
Prince Lindani further applauded the spirit of unity and collaboration demonstrated by delegates, saying the robust engagements reflected a shared determination to find lasting solutions to common challenges.
He urged member states to urgently implement the recommendations and commitments emerging from the assembly, warning that failure to act decisively would undermine efforts aimed at improving the lives of citizens, particularly young people. “Young nations cannot develop through empty promises or jokes, but through firm decisions and collective commitment,” said Prince Lindani.
He further encouraged delegates to utilise the partnerships and networks established during the assembly to push for reforms and policies that would advance the interests of their people on the global stage. “Power shared is power that can be used to demand the change we want in the world,” he added.
The assembly, hosted in the Kingdom of Eswatini, brought together parliamentarians, diplomats and policymakers from OACPS member states and the European Union to strengthen cooperation and deliberate on urgent global issues affecting member countries.
