MBABANE– Stefanutti Stocks has donated E100 000 to support the Deputy Prime Minister’s (DPM) ‘Back to School’ campaign, a move aimed at easing the financial burdens that many families face at the start of a new academic year.

The donation was made at the DPM’s office boardroom during a formal presentation ceremony this morning.

The construction company’s Director, Dr Thandiwe Hlatshwayo, said that while Stefanutti Stocks’ professional reputation is traditionally built on the execution of physical infrastructure, defined by concrete and steel, the company’s corporate philosophy extends far beyond the built environment. She stressed that the most important structures they can help build are the foundations for children’s futures.

Dr Hlatshwayo acknowledged that the start of a new school year represents a period of hope and opportunity, but it also imposes significant financial strain on families across Eswatini. “It is our firm belief that no child’s potential should be limited by a lack of essential school supplies, uniforms, or academic fees,” she said.

She described the DPM’s office as a vital pillar of support for vulnerable communities, highlighting the office’s role in maintaining a robust social safety net. “When the ‘Back to School’ campaign was initiated, Stefanutti Stocks saw this not merely as a request for financial assistance, but as a strategic investment in the next generation of engineers, medical professionals, and national leaders. It is, therefore, my pleasure to formally present a contribution of E100 000 toward this campaign,” Dr Hlatshwayo said.

Quoting former South African President Nelson Mandela, she added, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” She emphasized that the donation aims to alleviate financial pressures, ensuring learners can enter classrooms with dignity and fully prepared to prioritize their education.

In her closing remarks, Dr Hlatshwayo commended the DPM and her team for their dedicated efforts in coordinating initiatives that support vulnerable learners. She expressed Stefanutti Stocks’ pride in partnering with the DPM’s office and encouraged other private sector entities to follow suit.

Finally, Dr Hlatshwayo addressed the learners who will benefit from the campaign: “We have full confidence in your abilities. Apply yourselves diligently to your studies, and build a future of which you can be justly proud.”
