MBABANE– Eswatini-born artist Tboas Linkonyane has released both an EP and a full album, marking a significant milestone in his growing music career.
Thabo Mazibuko, popularly known as Tboas Linkonyane, is making notable strides in the music industry following the release of two major projects, an EP and a full-length album. Born in Mbabane in 1994 and raised in Siteki, the artist comes from a musical background, being the son of veteran musician Duma Mazibuko, known for his 1980s hit “Emalangeni”.
Tboas began his artistic journey as a dancer during his school years before discovering his passion for music in 2015. He started by writing songs, recording demos and later formed a duo called 2nd Kings with a friend. “We called ourselves 2nd Kings because we believed a black man is a king,” he said. The duo remained active until 2020, when he decided to pursue a solo career and develop his own identity in music.
His latest projects include a five-track EP titled I’m Out, released in October 2025, and a 12-track album Ikhona Lenkinga Lekhona, which dropped on April 25, 2026. The EP reflects his decision to explore life outside Eswatini, while the album focuses on storytelling and personal experiences. “My music is based on real events and stories people share with me,” he explained.
The album features collaborations with artists such as Tus Mvuleni and Alec The Father’s Hope, while the EP includes work with TNS Savvy, who also contributed to its production. Tboas said working with different artists helped shape the sound and quality of his projects.
Now based in Tembisa, Gauteng, South Africa, the artist aims to expand his musical reach and gain more exposure. “I want to represent Eswatini and grow musically by experiencing new environments,” he said.
Having recorded across multiple studios, including Wise Eagle Records and Swazi Swag Records, Tboas continues to refine his craft. Both projects are now available on major streaming platforms, marking a new chapter in his career.
