MBABANE– Gospel sensation Wyclef Sim is set to ignite the nation with a series of transformative soaking sessions.

Wyclef, alongside his dedicated team, is embarking on a mission to create spaces where individuals can encounter the divine through the power of music. In a recent interview, he shared his excitement about this new initiative, stating, “The Lord revealed to me almost immediately after my live recording last year that the next phase will be to create a platform where people can come and experience Him using the music that He has given me as the point of experience.”

In an exciting collaboration with Zion Embassy Church, Wyclef has announced the inaugural soaking session, scheduled for this Sunday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Mbabane Theatre Club. Admission is completely free.

Looking ahead, Wyclef and his team plan to host these soaking sessions bi-weekly, with the second event set for July 27, although the venue is still in the works as they coordinate logistics with Sword and Spirit Mbabane.

Following the successful release of his live album,  The Response Vol. 1, in 2024, which features the hit singles “Yokhela Mlilo” and “Nginguthandiwe,” Wyclef has captured the hearts of gospel music lovers far and wide. These tracks are not only resonating with fans but also enjoying significant airtime on both local and international radio and TV stations.

However, the journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. Wyclef candidly reflected on his initial hesitations to launch this vision, admitting, “I kept procrastinating implementation of this Vision from God because I was looking at my personal circumstances. I took a serious knock financially and emotionally after my recording.” Yet, he realized that waiting for the perfect moment was futile. “I just have to launch; God will take care of the rest,” he declared with renewed determination.

What ignited his resolve were two poignant encounters just weeks prior to the interview. “I was approached by two people in different situations who asked me for prayer recommendations for their relatives on the brink of death,” Wyclef recalled. “It troubled me that I struggled to provide an answer. In that moment, I realized I should be the one offering support, not searching for someone else.”

This revelation fueled his passion to take the songs from The Response Vol. 1, which are rich with soaking and prayer themes, into public spaces. “As we minister through these songs, the Lord will be touching many lives,” he affirmed.

Wyclef emphasized the importance of engagement during these gatherings, stating, “The rules of engagement are such that no one should come with a spectator mentality, since this is not a show by any stretch of the imagination. Everyone must come with an expectation for a touch from the Lord.” He operates under the astute leadership of Dr. C. Samunenge at Eagles Wings Ministries in Mbabane, ensuring a solid foundation for this initiative.

Wyclef concluded with an open invitation, encouraging everyone to join this free gathering and arrive on time. With hearts open and spirits ready, attendees can expect a profound experience that promises to uplift and inspire.
