MANZINI- Eswatini Afro trap star Banzo sd readies heartfelt single “Gallery” with Apex.
Young Afro trap sensation Bandiswa Dlamini, popularly known as Banzo sd, is ready to serve music lovers another soulful piece of Swati artistry. The artist signed under Emadlelweni Music, has steadily built his name in the music scene over the past four years alongside fellow label mates Tus Mvuleni, Chief Umtukulu, Darulah, and Ulaka Lebhubesi.
This month, Banzo sd is set to drop his highly anticipated single “Gallery” featuring Apex The Vocalist, a track inspired by the challenges of long-distance love.
“Last year I went to South Africa to look for a bigger music market, leaving my girlfriend behind in Eswatini. I missed her so much that I would just stare at her pictures the whole day, wondering if she felt the same. When I met Apex in the studio, we realized we had a similar experience. That made our collaboration real and powerful,” he explained.
The track blends Banzo sd’s Afro trap flavor with Apex’s distinctive vocal delivery, creating a heartfelt Afro sound that tells the story of a man away hustling but constantly longing for his lover.
Known mostly for trap-heavy tracks, Banzo sd admits Gallery is a departure from his usual style. “In my previous releases, I wasn’t that deep into Afro sound or storytelling. This song is different, it’s relatable and rooted in reality. I believe a lot of people in long-distance relationships will connect with it,” he said.
Gallery also sets the tone for Banzo sd’s upcoming project, The Prodigal Son EP, which is scheduled for release later this year under Emadlelweni Music. Fans can expect more storytelling, diverse soundscapes, and a matured approach to his craft.
“I promised my fans this EP a year ago, and I’m finally delivering. We are ready, and bookings are open. People will definitely see me on stage this year,” he assured.
