EZULWINI– Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe has challenged local entrepreneurs to prioritise customer service, saying excellent products alone will not be enough for Eswatini to compete in regional and international markets.

Speaking during the closing of the MSME Growth Forum and the official presentation of the Made in Eswatini® Definition on Friday, Princess Sakhizwe said businesses must ensure the quality of their customer experience matches the quality of their products if they want to build globally respected brands.

She said that through her engagements with entrepreneurs over the past two years, she had witnessed remarkable creativity, resilience and innovation. However, she noted that customer service remains one of the biggest areas requiring improvement.

Princess Sakhizwe urged A Peculiar People, the organisation leading the Made in Eswatini® initiative, to make customer service development a priority alongside product development, branding and market access.

She said investing in practical customer service training would help local enterprises build trust, inspire customer loyalty and encourage repeat business.

“If we aspire to compete regionally and globally, let us not only produce products that the world admires – let us also deliver service that the world remembers,” she said.

Princess Sakhizwe made the remarks as Eswatini officially unveiled the Made in Eswatini® Definition, which establishes a national standard for products, services, experiences and designs genuinely created, produced, transformed or delivered from the Kingdom by responsible enterprises. The initiative also introduces a QR-coded Made in Eswatini® Mark that will allow consumers to verify how local products qualify under the national definition.

She said the initiative aims to build consumer confidence, strengthen local industries and encourage Swatis to support home-grown businesses, adding that every local purchase contributes to employment creation and economic growth.

Princess Sakhizwe further encouraged young people to believe they have the ability to create products and services worthy of global recognition, saying the next chapter of Eswatini’s economic story depends on innovation, excellence and a commitment to serving customers well.
