HLATIKHULU- The gospel music scene in Eswatini is flourishing, with a vibrant wave of youth artists leading the charge. Among them is Zandile Dlamini from Hlathikhulu.
Dlamini began singing gospel music at a young age in her local church, where she discovered her passion for praising God through her talent. From those humble beginnings, Zandile has nurtured a dream of becoming a recognized artist, using her voice to inspire and uplift others.
Dlamini’s musical journey took root in the church, where she realized her talent and calling while worshipping. In 2024, Dlamini joined the Itende Worship Experience (IWE), a movement dedicated to promoting upcoming musicians through its unique style. Initially, she focused on simple worship songs, but her involvement with IWE has allowed her to grow deeper in her artistry. “Being part of Itende Worship Experience has helped me discover new styles of expression while still being rooted in gospel,” she shares, highlighting the transformative impact of the group on her music.
Though she has not yet released a song, Dlamini is gearing up for a significant performance at an upcoming event: the Itende Live Recording, scheduled for November 21, 2025, at Metropolitan Church in Manzini. The event promises to be a powerful night of worship. “We promise nothing but a blast worship night,” she assures, eager to share her passion with the audience.
What sets Dlamini apart from other artists is her commitment to viewing worship as a ministry rather than just music. “Every song I sing carries a message of faith and hope,” she explains. Her desire is not merely to perform but to facilitate encounters with God through her worship style, making her music a vessel for spiritual connection.
As she reflects on her journey, Dlamini draws motivation in her unwavering faith in God and the testimonies of others who have risen from humble beginnings in the music industry. Knowing that her music has the potential to bring hope, healing, and comfort keeps her motivated, no matter the obstacles she faces. “It keeps me going no matter how hard it gets,” she affirms.
For Dlamini, music transcends mere entertainment; it has become a powerful tool for healing, winning souls, and touching lives. However, the path has not been without its challenges. Balancing limited resources and opportunities with her unwavering passion has tested her resolve. “Every challenge has strengthened my faith and commitment,” she reflects, showcasing her resilience and determination.
Looking to the future, Dlamini plans to continue growing with the Itende Worship Experience, aiming to release more music and collaborate with other artists. Her vision is to reach more people through worship concerts, recordings, and various platforms that spread the message of Christ.
As the gospel music scene in Eswatini continues to thrive, Zandile Dlamini stands as a shining example of the passion and purpose driving this movement forward.
